What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

/

All-on-4 is a complete tooth replacement system. It uses dental implants, abutments, and implant-supported dentures for lasting results. It offers better functionality than traditional dentures, as well as oral health benefits like stimulating bone tissue.

Misch Implant Institute

Dentist Yamen Akhras

When it comes to implant training, the Misch Implant Institute is the epicenter. It's named after Dr. Carl Misch, one of the pioneers of implant dentistry. Dentists studying at the institute focus specifically on dental implant education, so that they have the knowledge and experience to place implants once they finish their training.

Yamen Akhras, DDS, MS has benefited from education at both the Misch Implant Institute and the Urban Regeneration Institute. He passes this knowledge on to his team — each of whom has specialties of their own.

For instance, Dr. Amer Shammaa places mini implants, called temporary anchorage devices (TADS) for orthodontic patients. Additionally, Dr. Samer Shaltoni is a member of International Team for Implantology (ITI) and offers both implants and supplemental treatments like sinus lifts. Together, they offer comprehensive care for your all your dental implant needs at Premier Dental & Implant Center.

How Does All-on-4 Stay in Place?

We invest in your long-term results by using implants from Neodent, temporary restorations, and dental technology like 3D cone-beam computed tomography.

Dental Implants

All-on-4 dental implants are the foundation for this revolutionary treatment. They're small but effective biocompatible posts inserted into your jawbone and gums. Each All-on-4 upper or lower set needs just four implants to support a restoration. If you have less jawbone tissue, though, you can explore All-on-X, from the same makers. We also offer All-on-6, which uses 6 implants for support.

Osseointegration

Osseointegration is a crucial part of all dental implant treatments. In fact, it's what makes implants like All-on-4 so successful. Essentially, it allows your dental implants to replace your tooth roots and fuse with your gum and jaw. This process also means your implants can stimulate your bone tissue and prevent bone atrophy — something traditional dentures just can't do.

Abutments

Once your dental implants have osseointegrated, it's time to attach your abutments. Abutments are secured to your implants so that your new dentures will have something to connect them into place. Because they will be covered by your dentures, your abutments will be completely hidden, giving you subtle but stunning results.

Dentures

Our dentists use the state-of-the art All-on-4 procedure to attach upper and lower dentures. These dental restorations will be connected to your abutments. Because we use high-quality materials, your new All-on-4 or All-on-6 dentures will look and function just like your natural teeth.

The All-on-4 Placement Process

Now that you know how All-on-4 placement works, it's time to see it in practice. Generally, you can expect your treatment to take between 4 to 6 months if you do not qualify for same-day restorations. Patients needing supplemental treatment like periodontal care will often take a bit longer, but our educated team is up for the challenge.

My experience at Premier Dental was nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Akhras and his staff are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. When I came to the office, I was greeted by a nice young lady who helped me check in smoothly and answered all my questions about the procedure and payment plans. They are also a very organized dental team which was evident when I only waited about 10 minutes to be seen and I was able to schedule my next check-up seamlessly.
